Customer demand

For our lab we need a three phase variable ratio transformer with a minimum of 60 kVA power. The adjustable transformer should be air cooled and operated via an actuator. The output voltage has to be adjustable between 0 and 400 V without steps. The max current of 90 A has to flow in any voltage setting in the three phase system. As the design height is rather limited, a very small height is necessary. Additionally a fusing with 100 A has to be possible.

Solution

A space saving construction makes it possible to redeem the limited requirements for space as well as the electrical requirements. The core is a thin tape magnetic core with optimisation for the air gap. The windings have low skin- and proximity losses.
