Field of application

Isolating transformer conform to IEC/EN61558-2-4 for general purpose, e.g. as safe isolation for devices conform to VDE0700/EN60335, or as distribution transformer to build TN-systems. Useable for potential free net, for test systems or as power-ratio transformers. For machine controls, vehicle construction, automotive techniques, as toroidal-isolating-transforemr to supply medical rooms, as high current-transformer up to 10 kA.

 

Description

The core of toroidal transformers consists of a thin grain-oriented tape, which is wound in direction of the magnetic flow. The direction corresponds with the direction of rolling and the losses are very low. The air gap just arises at the first and the last winding, hence it is very small. Thus a low magnetic stray field, small weight and small volume are the results.

The three-phase toroidal transformer consists of three separate transformers without chain-linking to the core. The arrangement of the three phases can be selected. Thus and adjustment to difficult geometric relations is possible.

If one phase fails at the input, there will remain at least one phse without phase displacement at the output. In case a phase conductor has an earth fault, the voltages of the otehr two phase conductors remain constant, hence they won’t increase.
