Field of applications of toroidal transformers

Toroidal transformers are the best transformers in technical view. They are like the physical ideal transformer. Low air gap, low weight, high induction, less temperature rise, und low hum noise are the advantages of toroidal transformers.

Medicine technique: appliance for defibrillation, dental technique and kidney machine. We can also build leakage current reduced transformers according to EN 60742 VDE 0750. Best technical datas and results can be reached with a special construction and insulation.

Traffic technique: railway, automotive technique, aviation and space technique, toroidal transformers are preferred for traffic lights or signalers in reason of low weight. Applications with 400 Hz or higher frequencies can be realized with thin tape toroidal cores.

For lighting and illumination technique according to EN 60598-2-6 VDE 0711 (Lamps with built-in transformers for incandescent lamp) are toroidal transformers qualified, often in potted design. Special geometric types for designer objects can be realized.

In audio technique are toroidal transformers used for power transformers because of the low weight or they are used as low stray field transformers in preamplifiers

For handy application is low weight important. The low winding resistance helps increasing the welding current.

For switchboard construction are toroidal transformers used. They are simple and quick fixed with angel mounting or track rail mounting (f.e. TS 35).

For supplying machine like textile machines or for supplying machine in paper industry are toroidal transformer used.

Currently are application in environment technique and in safety engineering, f.e. in complete potted implementation.
